Jenna Donnelly & Ethan Lewis Maltby

Jenna Donnelly (lyrics/book) and Ethan Lewis Maltby (music/book) have been writing together for several years creating completely original cinematic musicals.

 

Works include: Courtenay (with Christopher Neame) an epic historical tale of bloody rebellion, the spooky, larger-than-life spectacle Apparition Smith and Christmas show The Sparkle Thief which completed a second season of shows at Canterbury’s Anselm Studios in 2015.

 

In 2016, their WW1 musical The Battle of Boat was premiered by the National Youth Music Theatre at the Rose, Kingston with a full cast-recording released the following year. The show is published by Theatrical Rights Worldwide and has been performed all over the world.

 

2017 saw the premiere of their new work, The Masters of Mystery as part of the Canterbury Festival supported by Arts Council England and the Marlowe Theatre.

In 2020, they wrote their first children's novel, The Legend of Sisu (published by The Conrad Press) and in 2022, collaborated with the Edinburgh Festival Ballet on a production of Hamlet  with Ian McKellen.

Independently, Ethan Lewis Maltby’s music has been performed internationally, he created the percussion shows Noise Ensemble and DrumChasers (narrated by Stephen Fry) and has scored for Cinema, Television, Video Games and major sporting events for the FA Cup, UEFA, UWCL, Sail GP and Rugby Union.

Jenna Donnelly is a lyricist and writer of platinum-selling records across the globe and has collaborated with artists on major labels such as Sony, Virgin and Warner. Her work also extends into primetime television, producing music for major ITV shows.
